How is a dump file viewable, or sendable to Cakewalk for analysis?

I've got this screen freezing thing down to the motherboard or the processor.  Everything else has been swapped out.
But would the dump file give me info on what the computer was doing the moment of the freeze?
Since the Dump file is so large, could anyone even sift through 5 gb of TEXT...in a single lifetime?
My guess is a dump file is not helpful in this circumstance.  Is this a correct assumption?  Is emailing a 5gb file to Cakewalk not necessary, or even wanted or helpful, to Cakewalk for analysis purposes?  Thank you for any insights.

If you want help with it, zip the file and attach it to a problem report. It will probably be much smaller when compressed.

I have seen large dump files. But never that big!

Is it consistently that big?

That sounds like a full (type 7) dump; the entire state of memory usage at the time.   Not sure why though, that usually isn't the norm...

a 5GB txt file ?
I would totally double check that size again. ive never heard of such a thing.
5KB, yes...5MB maybe..5GB...no way.

you also may want to fill out your sig so people know what you are using for an audio card, CPU, exc.
it might not be your mobo or CPU at all. it could be your audio interface.
what are you using  ?

I have had 30+mb, and maybe even one time a 100mb file.
