  • Can't unfreeze two previously frozen tracks. Button is grayed out/unusable?

I bounced a multi-track AD2 session to a stereo audio track, then muted, froze and hid the AD2 midi and tracks with Track Manager to lighten CPU load and streamline the number of tracks showing.

I wanted to change something in the mixed-down (bounced) stereo track and create a new bounce. So I went to track manger and made all the AD2 tracks (instrument track, midi track and individual kit pieces) visible again. But for some reason I can't unfreeze the Addictive Drums instrument track or the AD Midi track because the freeze button is grayed out and unusable. The button is fine on the various kit piece tracks and all the other tracks in the project.

I've closed out of the project and closed out of Sonar, then relaunched thinking that might help, but it didn't. I need to be able to unfreeze those tracks. Any ideas?? Thanks!

Try pushing other buttons in synth rack.  Mute and then unmute.

What happens, if you unfreeze the kitpiece tracks? After all, they are the actual results of the freezing process, not the MIDI track.

Away at the moment but will give these ideas a try. Thanks.

Tried all the other buttons. No effect. The freeze/unfreeze button remains grayed/inaccessible out in AD2's synth track. Was able to unfreeze the the MIDI track. Can now freeze/unfreeze fine.

I was able to unfreeze them, but that had no affect on the AD2 synth track. Still grayed out.

The only thing I can think of to do is insert a second instance of AD2 and route the MIDI to that. I did that, and the second instance of AD2 works fine, I just lose whatever tweaking I did in AD2 on the "broken" one.

I've had similar issues with Dimension where a track is either un-unfreezable or else when it is unfrozen the sound/instrument previously loaded in Dimension is empty.

Run Addictive as a standalone, probably have to reactivate, run the vst scan by resetting first and then scan in prefs, Now you should be a able to unfreeze. I've found the inability to unfreeze is because the vsti is no longer available in the system.

But I instantiated another instance of AD in the same project on another track. Works as expected. So it would seem AD is active and available. Also have it working in other projects fine.
