What I'm seeing here:
A lot of people like the theme. Some people don't. Some people hate it. It's all opinion, nothing to do with "facts." I'm personally not a huge fan of orange in themes, although overall I much prefer this to the original theme and it's become my new default. Should I say anyone who likes the orange colours are factually wrong? No. It's *my* preference. End.
The other thing I'm seeing here:
From this update on: We have a new theme to play with. From what's been said around the place, it's one of many coming, there'll eventually be a theme editor for us all to make our own themes and make up as many reasons as to what we think is a good GUI or not as we like, and even with this first theme it's simply just a start. It'd be a hell of a process going through and setting up such a well established program like SONAR to swap out UI elements on the fly. Also in this update is the ability to go back to the original theme and pretend this never happened, and just enjoy all of the other bug fixes and enhancements that we're getting far more regularly than we ever did in the history of the product.
Prior to this update: We had the original theme with no option for anyone who may prefer it to be different, and no start on giving us the tools to change it at all.
I can't see how this is a stamp your foot and be angry thing. We're now GAINING something great that if it doesn't work for you, you can entirely ignore it, despite a lot of people are genuinely finding it useful (whether anyone might think they're insane or not).
It's like getting a free room tacked onto your house that you don't ever need to go into and use if you don't want, or if you hate the colour scheme. Me? I prefer to know I have the option of having the extra space available, and knowing that down the track, I can paint this room whatever colour I like. It's all win.
