I just updated my S-Plat to 2016.05 and am very impressed. "Tungsten" looks awesome. I love it.

Some color changes could be made with external applications. Its a tedious process though. I just tried one change to modify the meter color from black to a sort of dark maroon shade in the console view. Here's how it looks :

This is how I see the meter default.

Though I sit at least 5 feet away...
Carry on...

It seems Davey perhaps needs to complain a little less and learn a little more - choose Segmented Meters or change the colors of your current non-Segmented Meters.    It's really not all that difficult...

I'm using the segmented meters which are clear and easy to see.  I'm not sure that's how the solid meters are supposed to look.  Someone using solid meters will have to comment.

Read "Friday's Tip of the Week" for week #41 to find out how to make your meters look really cool. And check out the tip for week #1 to get the most out of them.

I really like Tungsten, but what would be really cool would be Tungsten with the "robin-egg blue" buttons from Mercury (I'm not a big "orange-gold" person most of the year).

They can call it "Merc-sten".  ("Tung-cury"?)

Or maybe an even deeper blue on the buttons?

Like: this color, both bright and deep. This would be hyper-cool for me.

When I updated, all my customized SPLAT Dark settings I created were plugged into Tungsten - track colors, meters, etc. ( Ilike the stripe identifier) If the fx bin plugin color is customizable to follow track color (clips already do), I'd be a 2 thumbs upper. Note the custom UAD Control Panel - my own touch. Thanks to UAD it fits perfectly there. lol

Forgive my ignorance, Craig: where exactly are the "Tips of the Week" for the various weeks kept and how may I access them?

Thank you much, sir.

In France we say "Les gouts et les couleurs ne se discutent pas". Translation:" Tastes and colors shouldn't be debated".. Food for thought..

You know, I found this one.  I can't find the one Craig mentions, but I'll try clicking the link.  Who knows, maybe it'll lead to the others....

Thanks.

Later edit: whoa, all of the tips are at the bottom of the page. Cool. Thanks much, Grim!
