Yeah, I get that, but what, specifically does "follow source" mean? What is the "source" in this context?

When source category is tracks the source is the individual interleave (number of channels) of the source track. So if you have a combo of stereo and mono tracks they will will be individually exported with their original interleave.

What you're seeing is part of a long-term strategy that no one in the forums has figured out, and that's excellent...because it means the competition probably hasn't figured it out either...

Thank you for the detailed thoughts on moving forward. It'll be interesting, and in view of the lifetime option, there is hardly any risk for me as a member short of another $99. I really hope Cakewalk succeeds and moves the product forward, as they add another platform and ecosystem. That is a large undertaking in itself.

I think it's natural to be skeptical. Lifetime is a strong word. Thinking of life and death, even marriage:)

Who knows, cakewalk might create a new product next year, ending or diminishing Platinum.

So it's all about trust. To me it's no doubt, what Cakewalk has done so far for the money is unbeaten. Especially last and this years updates.

I married today;)

Maybe P5 is on the way back? Good news.

Of course there's no way that Craig could be hinting at something along those lines here... No doubt he's just innocently humming away to himself while he works and accidentally posted it...

I loved P5 wish it could be the replacement for the Matrix. I know it wasn't multicore, but it was a great
scratchpad for ideas etc......

I never used P5, but from hints dropped in various places, I wouldn't rule out some not-yet-announced changes in that general zone - whether that's a beefed up Matrix view, or a dedicated scratchpad arrangement area, or a recycling of components of the P5 workflow into Sonar, or some combination thereof. Or maybe it will be a bolt-on extra? Who can say? Well, somebody knows, but they aren't likely to tell us until they're ready. Fine by me, I have enough to keep me busy for the moment! But I'm curious...

I don't know the personalities well enough to read between the lines above...

Is there actually a chance that P5 is returning?   Prior to June 1, I would have said that there is no chance in ****.   But this wild Sonar Mac announcement makes anything possible.

It is a slippery slope of extreme unfounded speculation.   If PS comes back, it would probably be cross-platform.  If P5 comes back then will P5's little brother Kinetic come back?  Will Cakewalk Pro Audio 9 be ported to iPad as Cakewalk Pad Audio X?  Will Ron Kuper return?   Will Roland, in a fit of regret for letting for go of Cake, buy Gibson only to be later bought by Space X who will use Sonar as the official DAW of the Mars mission?

Sorry, my brain hurts.

Elon WOULD be a fantastic addition to the team!
