  • Kontakt 5 Multiprocessor Support in SPlat

So, I have a couple of questions regarding the "multiprocessor support" option in Kontakt 5. From my understanding, when using Kontakt 5 as a plugin within a host, having multiprocessor support on can conflict with the host's processing. However, in standalone mode, it's always recommended to have this turned on. I've always had this turned on when using it in SPlat (and previous versions of Sonar) and it doesn't seem to cause any issues for me, but I'm wondering if anyone knows the preferred, ideal setting for this regarding Splat.

Also, on my computer, I have the option of 1 to 8 core support. However, my processor (i7-6700K) is a quad core with 8 threads. Is Kontakt recognizing the 8 threads as separate cores? Should I be choosing 8 or 4 to get the best performance?

Thank you!

Would LOVE some real clarity on this issue.  Kontakt is by far my most used vst and also the most fidgety... I always try to meditate when I've frozen, turned on/off, or loaded something...as a crash sometimes happens to remind me impatience is "baaaaad"!

I can't give real clarity on this topic, but Kontakt 5 distinguishes between standalone mode and plug-in mode in regards to multiprocessor support.
IIRC this was problematic with Kontakt 4, where multiprocessor support was determined by the settings in standalone mode only.

So, with version 5, use all cpu cores (threads) listed in Kontakts engine settings.
