I just saw this on the "In the Oven" page...

This is gonna be a game changer for me. I'm more excited about this than the June 1 announcement!!

Agreed, I saw it while up in Boston last week. I think it will have the same kind of impact as Quick Grouping, and it's a great enhancement for touch screen users.

Yes. Which irks me quite a bit...

I don't agree with marketing a "big announcement", and then the announcement being "Here's what we're going to do one day". But that's a whole different thread.

However, I still can't wait for this feature.

Well, the announcement of lifetime updates for all Platinum users is right now...IMHO of the three announcements that one is first, the more defined roadmap second, and the Mac third. Although I must admit being able to have SONAR on my PowerBook would mean not having to carry around two laptops any more!

I'm not sure I understand your frustration. Are you opposed to any feature pre announcements? The feature is coming out in this months release which should be literally available in a little over 2 weeks. We've been doing pre announcements since the start of rolling updates since most users seem to want to know whats coming.

I'm not frustrated. I love that Mac is coming up, and I love this new feature... especially now that you've told me its very close!

What I think could have been done much better as a marketing professional is the way Cakewalk marketed it. I think you not only missed a great opportunity to make the Mac side of things even more exiting than you just did, but also wasted a marketing tool that any company can use maybe once every 4 or 5 years... "The Big Reveal".

I'm the biggest fan of Cakewalk and of Sonar there is. So when I see the poor marketing it saddens me because I DO want to see the rest of the Pro Audio world wake up and realizing that there's no better platform out there today than Sonar.

I love Cakewalk. I love Sonar. I love marketing.

Just because I don't agree with the way "June 1" was handled doesn't mean I'm hating on anyone :-)

I'm not irked but I am somewhat underwhelmed. Though the Mac announcement is a big deal to many. We already knew about the lifetime updates which took some of the steam away from the rest of the big announcement.

Its hard to build up anticipation and than no matter what is the truth it will not be what some hoped for. Therefore in any announcement that has a pre-announcement to announce it is bound to let some down.

As a long-time SONAR user, to me the most significant element is the third announcement. I've seen the roadmap for the next several months, and it's clear that Cakewalk really wants to tighten up the existing elements, not just come up with new features.

I've been bragging to all my non-sonar friends all year about the awesome work Cakewalk does perpetually since they started this new update methodology. And they're starting to take notice. :-)
