Hi. I am being forced to use Logic while I formally train as a sound engineer. I much prefer Cakewalk even with its little problems. But the one thing I greatly admire on Logic is the analyser built into the EQ. It is so much easier to use than the current situation, of using a third party analyzer that struggles to accurately reflect the audio signal.
Maybe I am being picky. But I do feel that Cakewalk should at least offer an equivalent system.

I'm a little confused by your request.  Which version of Sonar do you have?  X3 Producer and  new Pro  and Platinum have a built in analyzer in the EQ.  Look at the screen shot and you will notice the EQ shows frequency analyzer:

Ah.. the good news is that you had a good idea..so good they actually implemented it.  The other good news is that you have options.  One option is to upgrade.  Another is that there are thrid party EQ's with this feature.  Most cost, but I know of at least one free one.  The Mequalizer included in the melda production free bundle has this feature:
