Hi,
I've just been given a Light controller for controlling light shows which is midi compatible and i thought what can i do with this then I looked and saw it has 24 faders, oh wow could I use it to simply control the faders in sonar like a standard controller? I can't get it working though, it's sending messages constantly which is probably what it is meant to do, I've tried learn mode which did not work.
Has anybody tried these before? It would be great if I could use it with all those faders lol. it has a screeen and each time you move a fader it does register movement but it goes up to 256 and not the usual 127.

You will need to write a dll to handle the conversion. If you know C++ it should not be too hard. Otherwise ask someone to do it for you. I doubt Bandlab will be interested in providing support.

From the documentation and some comments in the Internet, this device can not be used as a MIDI controller. It accept external MIDI control, can dump settings throw MIDI output (to equivalent device) and from one comment sends something when flash buttons are used. But NOT when faders are moved, that control internal light logic only.

If you're into digital electronics at all, you could probably use something like an arduino to scan the light output signals and convert them to MIDI messages.

Whether it's worth the effort though... well that's another matter, especially when something like the Korg NanoKontrol is so cheap.

[Edit] - It looks like there's no individual light outputs, so everything is controlled (as Alexey says) by a MIDI dump for each scene. So you're out of luck with this one, unless you hack the hardware and hook something up to scan the faders directly.
