I know there have been some ambivalence towards Landr, but Kaspersky has taken it to a whole new level: when I tried to run it just now, Kaspersky just intercepted it and told be it carried a trojan "with a very high degree of certainty" and then deleted LandrExport.exe

Kaspersky's Heuristic detection engine again. By it's nature (intended to provide greater/quicker detection by looking for file types, etc that are "questionable" (to the AV developers)), it will tend to throw up false alarms. It is intended to provide protection before a new virus is discovered, and a definition can be written for it and included in the regular AV protection algo.
Mostly, it's crap.

When LANDR was initially released within sonar and auto-installed, I ran some of the files through virus total, and got positives on several of the files.

I'm not sure that it means anything, but I restored to restore point and don't want it on my system.
