Looks cool. Finally they got rid of the blue colour in track names and browser etc. I liked the old  tools module and snap module with Blue though.

I think it's fantastic overall, but count me in as one who'd like to see a *bit* more color in the console - fader cap would be fine, or an option to color the track-name-frame as suggested above, or possibly even the icon frame, something like that. Just to make it a bit quicker to quickly identify tracks or groups of tracks based on color.

I'm also hoping we can get access to some way of building or altering themes at some point...

yup, although I have got used to it, count me in as well as someone who wants the track colors back.
I know earlier in this thread I said it didn't really matter too much.
I was wrooo...I was wroooon...I was wrong.

didn't really notice it until I had a project with 30 tracks. then everything just appears to jell together.

On cakewalk's rollout page , under the "Coming in Spring 2016" in the "UI Themes" section, it states there:

"Plus, we’ll provide tools so you can easily design and use your very own custom-made UI skins."

So if I read that right, we will indeed be able to make custom made skins - and I am hoping that includes the ability to return the track colours as they appear in the "Mercury" theme.

Sooooooo long overdue. Love the new look. Looking forward to full functionality with theme editing, a good start might be customize-able highlight color,  but in the meantime, turquoise highlights have been banned forever in my studio. Finally!

Yep, unfortunately that is what happens when you remove all depth cues. In the middle of a long and tiring session, wondering why you have a headache, try to switch to the Mercury theme to get instant relief. Your mind will thank you because it no longer needs to work overtime trying to separate UI elements based on colors. Instead you will "get it for free" as you mind does the element separation subconsciously.

Tweaking the colors isn't going to solve the problem, maybe just mask it a little bit more and keep the headache away for a little bit longer.

The reason I'll be sticking to the Mercury theme is because I get this concept. I really wish today's UI designers also understood this.

hey silk, you notice big difference with the 32GB of ram vs 16 ?
we have the same systems (ASRock Z97 Pro4, Haswell 4790k @ 4.4GHz / though I run mine stock 4.0GHZ)
I have 16GB of corasair but thinking of making the leap to 32)

I love the look of Tungsten also - except for no track colors. I rely on those to keep things sorted at a glance including AUX tracks. I'll stick with Mercury until that is changed.
