I love the dark theme too!

Track colors... I'll have to use it some more to make my final judgement on that but so far, I don't miss it.

I am absolutely loving the dark theme and the color expansion. When I started up platinum after the download, I almost fell off my chair. This is great.

Same here...and I think everything sounds better.  My brain is playing tricks on me!

This trend started when Microsoft brought their Metro theme from Windows Phone over to the desktop in Windows 8. Flat themes might work on a phone where the UIs are much more simple and there are no overlapping windows. So all of this is based on a phone that lost the platform wars and rumors are MS is giving up on it (I say as someone that still has a Windows Phone - so please... I'm not a hater)

It's definitely not dead. Although it might seem so. They are just not focusing on phones so much this year but look out for a Surface Phone next year that can also run Droid apps.

Personally, I got over the track strip colors rather quickly this weekend. Since I only record for as a living, I have pretty rigid ways when it comes to grouping tracks together. After only one weekend, Mercury with the color track strips looks almost clown-ish to me now. And I was a "track color" power user. So for me, it's goodbye Mercury. And here's a couple of reasons.

I definitely understand those who currently use only one video monitor, it (the colors) could be a big deal. But because I've been using dual monitors (many years), I am able see the full screens of both the Track and Console View simultaneously. It would've been harder (for me)  to accept Losing track colors on a single monitor. I say this because I can see the track color in the waveform on one monitor and the colors on the other. A border around the bottom as was suggested is a good idea IMHO. But nothing more than that.

A far greater reason for my digging the Tungsten theme, At 63 years old, diabetic and on dialysis, my vision is somewhat compromised in one eye. The change from the light Mercury to the dark Tungsten has been a Godsend.Literally, my experience working in Sonar has increased probably 50% both functionally and asethically. So there's that.

Lastly, because I do record others, my software is on display constantly. Tungsten has a stronger professional look/feel to it. And that's a factor when other people pay you to make records for them. Additional control over the UI would.will be much welcomed at my tiny little bungalow

So, rock on SONAR, rock on.

Anyway just my 2¢...

Earl

here's what I would like to see in future themes:

- console themes: for example a replica of the Rupert Neve 5088
- different colored strips. who says the strip has to be one color.
- adjustable resolution of and more customizable strips.

to me the replicating of past consoles could be a great direction for sonar.
not only changing the color but the way the strips are designed. / inline EQ more defined square MSR buttons.
it would be the future of DAW's.
it is now more evident that users, being musicians like to be creative in more ways then one.
so why not let them be.
bring on an editor.

To all,
Checking to see if there is a change in the title in CCC when you early update. Mine still has old 2016.4, even after it 'updates' to 2016.5. Would like to see new color scheme. Or is this only on plat.

It should state that you have the early access 2016.05 as the current version. If not you don't.

That really looks great, I will wait until the release before downloading though but I'm excited to see it in the flesh.
