they will love that, as good as x3e was, platinum is another step up the ladder, quite a big step imo.

after installing the early release and then the latest official update i have been using sonar much more than i have since back in kingston and it feels very good, and looks very good. my first impression of the new theme was not entirely positive, although generally it looked great from the start, a few things (that orange and some other) put me off, but after a short time i don't even notice those things i didn't like upon first sight, and everything seems to fit together fine now to me. maybe a bit of a 'culture shock' when i first seen it

very good work

Just to add my 2 cents....I like the new look, and the ease of switching back.  I'll be interested to see if more options come into play as time goes on.....but when I loaded a project with the new UI, I liked it quite a bit.

I really enjoyed reading the ezine for this month. Some interesting things in it.

I liked the idea of a dark flat theme, but had to revert to Mercury. There's more to design then just staying trendy, you know.
No track colouring is a showstopper.
My eyes also hurt from too much contrast and complete lack of borders given the amount of buttons and other controls. Especially since many are amber-lighted or has scarlet red in them. Would be nice to change at least this amber colour to Photoshop grey, Mercury blue, or Artist green.
There's also some colour inconsistency: the bluish whites of the text in the transport bar vs snow whites of the font in the control surface bar.
Overall I also would like to darken the whites.
And selected track highlighting has always been a problem. Doesn't work at all in Mercury. And is too subtle in Tungsten.
I think the theme has a great potential as long as the above issues are addressed.

Does that mean that someone might have actually read through my massive braindump of an Anatomy piece? I do hope somebody gets something from it... as for me, I'm still working away at the final polish on the Project That Ate My Life...

I certainly read it (this time as well), Tobias I thought it was interesting, and well written.
All the best.

Same here. Can't concentrate on making music with the daunting, overly black UI.

So all you guys who desperately need full colourization might need a trip to mercury for a while. Meanwhile Bakers could do some update to make the colours bit more apparent.

I don't know about desperately, but I am sticking with Mercury for now, though otherwise I really like the look of Tungsten.

Hi again,

In download center, any version of Sonar demo is still 2016.04. Can anyone confirm that?

If yes, when will demo version be updated?
