Please let it NOT be OSX....

Why OSX?
Windows (7, 8, 10) and SONAR is so stable that we are working over 14 days without reboot.
And we are earning our daily money with SONAR. Working 14 hours per day.
However we don't make music, we restore tapes and vinyl.
For the same money, a PC is faster and better as any MAC.

This would not be something I'd be particularly thrilled to see.  At any company, there are only so many resources to go around so it's nice having a DAW where the development team can focus on Windows.

...wicked
I wouldn't mind an OS X version. It would make my workflow that much faster since I have a MacBook Pro. I'm not dead in the water without it, but it would be nice to keep everything within one DAW I could port back and forth.

That said, I suspect an OS X version would be a bumpy ride as compatibilities were ironed out. I don't know how much I'd enjoy that process.

SONAR on OSX would expand the user base and respect Cakewalk deserves in the market one would hope.

Consider this: every time the big fruit releases yet another 10.x update to its OS, tons of software doesn't work anymore. Hell, you can't even install the newest iTunes on their 5 year old version of OSX! This is a true nightmare for developers, and an incredible waste of resources, just to maintain compatibility. It always blows my mind how all the hardcore Mac users around here (Los Angeles, land of the idiot!) still keep regurgitating the nonsense that Mac "just works", right after having an almost laughable conversation amongst themselves about the craziest problems.

In contrast, I just upgraded my buddy's OLD Win7 PC to Win10. EVERYTHING worked: his old PCI Gina 3G, and even Sonar 5! That's software from 11 years ago, working flawlessly on the newest OS. I'm beyond glad that Cakewalk is focused on the best ecosystem out there for us users.....

that unfortunately seems to be true (unfortunate in the fact that it seemingly needs that to gain that respect in certain circles) although it would bring with it perhaps some drawbacks for things as they are now maybe, like it would be like doubling the workload, i guess if they were staffed for the task then . . . but hasn't sonar for mac all but been ruled out by cakewalk themselves?

i hope personally it doesn't happen especially if there is a negative impact on how things are now. but for those mac peoples sake, if it were possible without any negative impact on the way things are then why not?

OTOH..

imo, Making improvements such that Windows Sonar could be a solid alternative to Ableton Live would expand the served available market far more
