I used PC's for years even built a few. They worked very well. But Mac was the first time I didn't have to do component/driver research and tweaking to get the performance & stability I needed at low latencies for virtual instruments. Everyone's mileage will vary of course.

I'm not expecting a Mac version of SONAR, but there's a certain nostalgia about debating the merits of such, -daily- over a decade ago. 😎

imo, Making improvements such that Windows Sonar could be a solid alternative to Ableton Live would expand the served available market far more
 

I don't know that anyone can say for sure what would have the bigger effect, but a beefed-up Matrix that put it seriously into Live territory would seem to be far better use of resources than a port to OSX, and yes, likely have at least similar results in terms of expanding the user base. Maybe compete with Maschine too while we're at it? Particularly if the price point were competitive. In any case that's what I'd rather see. Not that I expect many people care, but hey, there it is...
