It is installed, drivers are installed, VRM app works, device works in Windows, but is not seen or available in Splat (latest version).

Anyone have a clue as to what is happening here? I do not want to use the SPDIF option.

Try posting in the "Hardware" forum and give more details (steps) you're following when it doesn't do what you expect.

I would try to help, but I don't have a VRM ...

I have a VRM, and using SPD/F is the only way I am able to get it to work correctly in Sonar.  Make sure it's enabled in control devices in the control panel of windows.  Once you get if configured right, it is a gem.

Mine shows up as an available device (despite the fact I only use it as SPDIF... so it has to be unselected to use my 18i6 instead).

Two thoughts (edit: 3+ eleventy thoughts... lulz)....

1) Do you have another Focusrite interface installed? If so this can be confusing in the Prefs menu. You'll see both devices listed but the names are very similar. It's tripped me up when switching from Voicemeeter to the 18i6 before. However if you are in ASIO you can only choose on at a time so it quickly becomes apparent quite quickly (one will block the other from being selected in Prefs).

2) Did you install correctly? Look at the VRM box install instructions to see if you missed any of the install Voodoo needed to make it work as an interface. If unsure uninstall and reinstall following the directions to the LETTER.

3) Maybe you need to run the Sonar Audio Device/Wave Profiler thingie? Maybe you need to enable the device in the Windows Control Panel > Sounds section (or whatever it is in 10 if you use that)? Maybe you need to reboot and connect the VRM Box BEFORE opeing Sonar (as opposed to connecting it AFTER opening Sonar or opening Sonar too quickly after connecting the VRM)? Maybe you are switching USB ports and making the system/Sonar play hide and seek with the ports?

Okay I guess that last one was a bunch of thoughts but just some general troubleshooting I'd try.

Cheers.

hahaha!  Thanks Beep.... @ Lynn, I'd like to run via SPDIF but the I/F does not have the connection (just TOSLink).

Yeah pretty sure it was all installed correctly as it does work within Windows...I didn't try the Audio Profiler tool (duh! forgot that one) so I'll give that a go and if that fails I'll do the uninstall/install thing again.

Cheers guys!

ummm, where is that tool now? According tp the manual it is supposed to be at Edit > Preferences > Audio - Driver Settings but I cannot see this option there at all? Running latest version of SPLAT.

Okay discovered I need to reset to WDM and NOW Splat sees it, but according to what I have read online the VRM is supposed to be an ASIO device??? However after I run the tool (onyl available after switching to WDM mode btw) and it sees the VRM, if I chagne back to ASIO the VRM disappears as a device??

hmmm...

Are you sure you installed the ASIO drivers?

yep pretty sure Beep...the VRM only has one installation app, (V 1.2) ..I will try a re-install and see if that does something. Although I msut admit after this last BIG W10 OS update, some odd things have been happening so a reinstall may be the ticket!!
