Can not make audio metronome work anyone else?

I don't know if this is related to your issue but many times when I'm recoring and have plugins on some tracks I normally turn off all FX by pressing the fx button on the tool bar when I record a track but will sometimes have to toggle the FX button on and off to get the metronome to work.

Metronome working fine for me on 2016.05

Same here, it's working fine.
 
Do you have an output assigned for your metronome?  Look in preferences

Make sure the metronome bus is there.
