Some of those long winded 35 page threads remind me of a NASCAR 500 mile race  ...
Every body starts off all "nice and polite "for the pace car laps . Once the green flag comes out , it's a whole other story

There's a UK footballing forum where I participate. One of the threads runs to 13,905 pages and 317,600 posts.

But it's not for the faint hearted. The competing factions can and are extremely abusive & vitriolic towards each other, although the use of expletives is strictly forbidden

Hah! That's marvellously British. What's that, old chap? You want to say horriffic, terrible, likely violent things about and to each other? Why, go right ahead, that's perfectly natural when the subject is as important as football... but please, don't swear! It's just not done. For heaven's sake, children might be listening!

(I'm Canadian, it's pretty much the same, except we're all really nice to each other )

How do you have time to record and read a 35 page thread?

I think many of those who have time to read (and post in) a long thread do so at work or on the way to work/home, and they record at home at night or on weekends only. I happen to be a freelancer working at home, and mostly post while eating a meal or in a short break from work, recording, etc.

Good question mixmkr. And I agree with rwheeler in that Craig's weekly tips are definitely worth the read, although that is more of an ongoing tutorial than a robust 10 page discussion on some issue that affects a Sonar user. If a discussion interests me I will usually read the first page or so, then only read the posts made by those that I consider making relevant points, or valuable additions, to said discussion, and start skipping those that haven't made any meaningful contribution up to that point. That said, there is sometimes entertainment to be had by reading a lively back and forth between those of "differing opinions".

I foresee this thread becoming over 3 pages long.
