There's a UK footballing forum where I participate. One of the threads runs to 13,905 pages and 317,600 posts.

I just knew somewhere in the world the CH's FSF would be bested. We only have 1,558 pages with 46,719 posts.

Longer threads are much like a pub, folks come and go and the topic shifts accordingly. Not that they are not entertaining at times, but not required to read every post.

The ones that are more annoying to me is where the OP continually re-engages a thread just to keep it alive (sometimes to keep the OP in focus, and others just to wreak havoc). The wreak havoc ones could certainly be laid to rest sooner.

I hate to admit this , my therapist is pretty impressed with my new found ability to cope  .
I've told him about some of the things those mega threads have kicked up for me ..
You know , stuff like some of the Rubs with a few select folks that just have a way of climbing under the skin ...

I've always been one to choose my words wisely simply because if I ever end up having to eat them I can't blame the way they taste on the Cook  .
