Hi. Just to be sure. Are you on build (2016.05, build 22.05.43)? This is the build that includes the new Themes.
All the best.

open command center and click on the gear icon on the top right hand corner, you will see this.

then click on Check now.
when you go back to the main screen, look for a new sonar update, the latest build as Ken said
2016.05, build 22.05.43
then after update, open sonar, go to preferences, themes, change the drop down to Tungsten.
you may have missed the update by a few hours or something. happy jamming !

If you did not use CCC to install, it is located under My Products at cakewalk.com. Download and install latest version.
All the best.

gentleman, thank you both for your answer, i did what you said and now everything seems up to date, however, one thing i don't like with Tungsten  as apposed to the earlier version is that when one picks a color the entire channel strip does not change, only the very left side, one of the things i noticed with pro tools is what sonar did with platinum, that is, being able to assign colors to specific things. is there a way i can do that with tungsten?
i find having the entire channel strips with a color so much easier on the eyes after looking at the screen for 12 to 14 hours a day, i'm quite sure you know what i mean.
i look forward to your thoughts on this, and again, thank you very much to take the time to help me.

It is not possible to do in Tungsten at this time. There is a Theme Editor in the making (IIRC). It should make it possible to create your own layout.
All the best.

If you want to use full color on the track strips in the CV you need to use Mercury. Tungsten has a subtle use of coloring in keeping with its easy on the eyes theme. Tracks are still color coded but not the whole track. There is a bar at the bottom for this. I have used this coloring to code for buss outs from tracks. With the new name being stationary and the color bar being viewable always it is a good addition to tungsten.

We don't loose any functionality with this approach.  The theme idea is more capable then just a simple color change.
