I wouldn't buy the Softube Mix Bundle unless it goes on sale. I bought it years ago for $179, and I like it mostly, but I wouldn't spend $329 on it after using it for as long as I have. I pretty much only use the reverb, and sometimes the fet comp. If you really want it, I would wait for a sale.

i agree. the bundle isn't so much the appeal.

i really like the FET comp, though.

best price i can see at the moment is $169.00.

with the Waves CLA bundle at $146.00

what's with the licensing of Waves stuff?

revisiting the Variety of Sound line.

i've been using their stuff mostly for Mid-Side processing.

but their saturation and compression tools are extraordinarily nice.

Go with the Waves CLA Bundle, especially at the current sale price. Just the ClA-2A is worth the price of the bundle alone. You wont have any regrets or plugins buyer remorse. And trust that if you pass that waves deal up (been there/done that), you will be kicking yourself later IMHO.
Download the demos and let it sell itself.

The thing I hate about Waves is that I work from two computers - desktop and laptop back and forth. It seems to be a pain to use their plugins on two separate machines. Maybe there's something I'm missing though.

HEADS-UP re Softube

They STILL can't get their Win10 x64 bit plugins to work. I bought the Drawmer S73  when it came out, but have never been able to use it.

I found a recent post somewhere where the OP had just heard back from Softube that they were still working on the problem, and that it was the worst one the guy had seen since working at Softube.

Caveat emptor.

FWIW, I'd also take a look at the +10dB ProChannel bundle in the Cakewalk store. Sure wish I'd taken advantage of the offer that bundled the Hoser XT in with it. Nowhere to be found now.

i was concerned about the Waves licensing.

but i can deal with the license cloud approach.

for a bill and a half... done.

the +10db ProChannel bundle looks pretty amazing too.

thanks!!!

I bought the CLA bundle a couple years ago and really enjoy it. The Cakewalk LA2A is every bit as good as the Waves and I have both. The biggest mistake I've made is getting too many comp plugins. I keep switching around instead of really learning just 1 or 2. I'm not a pro, so it's my time to waste. If you are working for customers it would be better to focus on a few real good plugs and have an emulation of an LA2A or 1176 around because a lot of people know the legends and want to see them on your system.

Down the rabbit hole you go my friend.
