I have since hated the "Mercury" default Sonar skin since X1... it's too dark... so, they make an even DARKER one!!   I am really hoping they build a LIGHT one next, like Pro Tools or something.... for me LIGHT is so much easier on the eyes!  (especially colored track clip backgrounds, not just black.

I haven't spent any time with this theme, but I cannot stand to visit a web page that is dark like this.  The people doing these things should really look into the science of vision.  For people who don't have 20-year-old eyes, dark features on a light background are ten times easier to see than light features on a dark BG.
 
Don't do it because it looks cool.  Do it because it works better.
 
Plus those dark websites are just plain depressing.  So 1992.
 
Before I update to the new version, can somebody please confirm that I don't have to live with that dark scheme?  Surely there is more than one scheme available.

Go to Preferences, under customization is Themes. There you can change it back to the default "Mercury" theme. Very easy to switch.

Cakewalk, please don't spend any more time on creating new themes and instead just provide us with the theme editor so that we can all be happy (I'm sure some users will create great themes for those who don't have time to create themes themselves). The graphic designer should work on more important areas, such as the Drum Map Manager and Track Manager (I use a custom Windows theme created from the Classic theme, and these windows still look so unattractive). 

I still like grey themes.  As long as it is customizable who really cares.  The developers of Tracktion got some flack over their blue steel and removed the ability to change it.  You can get 1000s of schemes for Reaper but I still like the default.

Well I am sure the next one will be bright then. Dont worry!

I like the new Tungsten theme.   Some of the buttons look a little wonky though, like the record buttons in the tracks.  As I move my head, the red dot moves.  Very strange.
