whatever, it just kind of makes me feel like i shouldn't come into threads to try to help, because somebody has some invisible axe to grind, and will make issue of what I say, for no real good reason.

You're right...it's my issue and I just resolved it.

I recommended Rockwool because 703 wasn't available in my city, only by special order. So I bought rockwool, which was the closest thing to it for my purposes, basstraps.

if you know anybody in the HVAC business or general contractors, hit em up for a dose of rock wool.
