I could not go through something like that in my twenties, as well as now. 
I would drown probably during first competition and if not - definitely in second
one which is biking   No chance I'd get to the last one, the actual run....
Her story made me want run again.

She has raced the Ford Ironman World Championship 18 times.

If she keeps this up, they'll have to change the name of the event to Ironwoman.

I was at a customer's house about 10 years ago. They were an elderly couple. Old enough to be retired but ran a plant nursery as a livelihood. The lady of the house came out in a jogging suit and said something to her husband about "going for a run".... I said "you're going to do what?"... whereupon she told be that she was training again for the senior Olympics games in NC. 

She pulled out a scrap book and showed me past years pictures of her winning, then showed me the medals she won from running in the races in her age group.   Her husband looked at me and said...... "She does that stuff... not me, I just go to support her".    

They were both in their upper 60's to early 70's at the time..... more power to her....

Kind of like the UK's Jimmy Savile, cycled and ran marathons until his eighties. He ate junk food and smoked cigars constantly throughout his whole life. I think some people just have the genes.
