Because when musicians play it is not really a serious competition is it. It is people creating art after all. Quite a difference. They say the whole cycling competitive thing is riddled with drugs.

But a better option is for that whole area to get straight and drug free and then the finishing times will still be exciting but maybe a second or two less overall. Who cares what the actual fastest time really is. It is the variables between the competitors that is much more important and exciting.
So Armstrong's times may have been slightly less which means others may have won those races. (how often were things really close with other racers and their times? Did Armstrong always win by a huge margin? I am not that familiar)

It does not matter if he is great or not he will be remembered for this now rather than before. He did make an amazing recovery from Cancer as well which was very impressive. Maybe the performance enhancing drugs had a part to play in that.

It was fun, but if it was recorded... the next day was one of those "what was I thinking" moments when it came to listening to the tapes.....

Brilliance last night turned to BS this morning.

beat blockers to counter stage fright are apparently not uncommon in the classical world.

I wound up on YT listening to most of Their Satanic Majesties Request.. it isn't as bad as some say it is, well the stuff with the sitar is useless. Then I ended up watching Pink Floyd Live at Pompeii. These sort of threads about songs or bands always lead me on some audio or video adventure. It is unreal how many full albums and concerts are posted on YT. However, I may buy a copy of the PF Pompeii concert.

Anyway, what I once abused I now use. Life truly is circular.

Anyone who thinks "musicians" get any sort of "pass" or "free ride" as far as drugs are concerned is either A:  Not a musician or B:  Not a student of modern history.  Please, for the sake of rational discourse...do your friggin homework and WAKE UP AND SMELL THE COFFEE!!!

PS:  Jeff has it about right...No one ever says "You Win".... There is no real meaningful competition that one can "cheat" in.  If there were...believe me, musicians would be fabulous at doing it...just like everybody else.  What planet do you live on?
