I have just finished reading this fascinating book and definitely recommend it.  It is not necessarily aimed at prog fans, nor drummers.  It is more about the music industry and Bill's experiences and views about it.  It's full of anecdotes, but they are all presented in context.  Also, he is surprisingly candid and about his own personal insecurities and anxieties.  Well-written, articulate, analytical, frank... a great read from start to finish.

Hi,

I will probably be gettting this ... Guy Guden, in his interview with Bill also had some very nice things to say about him.

What??  "As Bill Bruford ... retires from the music industry" ?!    I do hope that is a serious misprint in the description of the book.  He can't retire!  I'm not through listening yet!

Even Robert Fripp is, basically, retired from the scene ... and you know what? ... these people have given their lives to the music ... and if they do not do anything else the rest of their lives, it won't matter ... they will still be remembered for their amazing work they put out.

I don't know that we can ask any more of anyone out there ...

We can ALWAYS ask!

(Though it's considered impolite to demand however.)
