It looks like the UI customization is only partially developed. There is 1 new theme but I see no tools for creating themes other than what there was before. Strangely, this release has the best core balancing I've ever seen. Anyone else notice that?

Since you mentioned it, I opened up a project with Ozone 5 and all sorts of look ahead plugins, and I would agree, cores do seem more balanced, especially core 1 doesn't stand out as much.

This release introduces theme support and your first new theme. We're about to move on to discussions about how you guys will be able to make your own, and are already working with our graphic designer on concepts for the next factory theme.

So, it's not partially developed. It's exactly as intended. But we may introduce enhancements and expansions over time.

Really dislike that bright orange (the rest of the new theme is very nice).  Too bad there doesn't appear to be any way at all to edit it, the theme is not a text file.

I use to dislike orange... then fell in love with an orange loving goddess...  I've grown to love it.  Everyone is going to have a different love/hate re: colors.  Which gets us back to the do re "mememe".  Looks like you'll be able to fix that down the road per bills comment above urs.

Re: Core balancing... does seem better... but not rolling back to C tonight!

just go in to preferences / colors and change what you don't like.
there are many options in colors to change a lot of things.

The orange is part of the theme, it's not coming from a color in the color settings.  Believe me I tried.  There seems to be a few different tints/versions of orange as a well -- all bad.  I think whoever picked it needs to be given a better monitor and maybe a color calibration unit.

I don't see any bright orange that is incongruous with the theme.  Looks great to me.  Vastly superior to the default. And unlike Reaper, the theme seems to be overarching. You don't get sudden panels or popups that aren't governed by the theme.

I really must learn to read the whole thread before blurting out.
