I think there is an issue with how the new theme displays on a few systems. Everyone of the complaints I have read do not appear on my system.  Recall with the LP remake and how a very few had blank windows.

I don't know why this is so important to me.  It could be my ever-failing eyesight or what ever aesthetic sensibilities I have, but I love Tungsten.

I have so many indelible memories of upgrading to X1 and being depressed by the "new" look before I really started having any problems with that version, period.

I was on X2 for very little time before X3, hit and after over a 5 hour download I just thought this just "this is so ugly".  Duckbar really helped me during those times, but there were issues...

I'm pleased.

This is how mine look- both Mercury + Tungsten

Im very pleased with the outcome. The Tungsten theme is soooo much easier on the eyes when working late night on projects.

Yeah, they both look about the same here.

Hmm. I think the track colour not covering the whole strip is a bit of a drawback.

Do the colors lock in for a track - i.e. a new clip is recorded on a track and it retains the colors selected for that track (instead of having to change each clip at a time).  I hope I am explaining this well enough.

yes, once you change the color of your track the wave form is the same color.
but the whole track does not change color as it did in mercury. there is a strip (next to the WAI strip)
im used to it now and like this version/tungsten way better then old iron sides mercury.

The Tungsten theme is WAAAY better for me.  Much easier to see what's on or off at a glance, and easier on the eyes too.  That being said I wish I could get the track colour applied the way it works in the (original) Mercury theme.  Hopefully these things can be applied in part as well as the whole.

Very promising overall

I thought the same at first John, but after a while, you get used to it.
even though the WAI strip is right there (for us control surface guys)
but like I said, to be honest, ive got used to it already.

you can always use Mercury if you want all colored strips)
as that hasn't changed (colors still cover all the track)

for you guys with the light colored tabs.

-are you using a template ?
-are these pre existing projects ?
-have you tried to cold boot your PC

those are a few things I would try.
I know the last one sounds stupid but it just might help.
try using a new project (opening a new project)
try using the default templates (sonar templates)

I know this might sound inconvenient if it works but this will at least let cake narrow it down.
even though im sure they don't need your help or mine

Although I see this fits the theme better.......maybe just the "groove of the fader-cap" or the "fader-cap" itself could be lit in the chosen track colour.......

The one thing I don't much like is the drop-down menus in Track and Console views - you know, View, Options, Tracks, Clips, MIDI, Region FX... and in Console, Modules, Strips, Track, Bus, Options. I don't know what the designer was going for but they are barely legible here. And unless I'm missing something obvious, I can't see where it's possible to change them in the Color preferences. Anyone else seeing this, or know how to change them if it's possible?
...

Not sure I'm misunderstanding something but the drop down menus are white so stand out as good as anything over the dark background. Looks like there is no difference to the old menus to me.
...

Hmm. Now that you mention it... I looked at the screen grabs posted in other threads and you're right, they look fine. Unfortunately mine look like this:

Any ideas? Did I get a corrupt download somehow? Seems a bit odd since everything else works...

EDIT for typo (sorry, compulsive)

In colour preferences there's a drop down that says bright, dark, mono, etc and changing that setting will change the visibility of those items you can't see. I went through and tried all the options because I also couldn't see those headers at first. Give that a shot before looking for larger problems..

Not sure you mean by colored strips.  What I am referring to is having a color assigned to a track, both background and foreground,  and having every new clip recorded on that track, without having to select again for the new clip.
