Sleep with one eye opened Straummy. That cat is in real good shape, not a typical stray. It's on a mission, as yet undetermined.

Well, it's now 2pm here in Blighty and the little feller hasn't been around yet.

I'm guessing he's not a stray, like some of you have mentioned he's in pretty good shape, but he did give me that impression at first. Mind you, one thing I did notice was that if I made any sudden movements near him he cowered away - like an automatic response as opposed to any real fear of getting clobbered. I just hope the poor thing isn't being knocked about by his owners.

Could very likely be a "drop off" ..... someone who had it, didn't want it, for whatever reasons, and took it for a ride to a new town. As opposed to a stray from another neighborhood out for some "catting around" on the town before heading home. 


If you determine it to be a stray, and if you plan to keep it, I would certainly take it to a vet for a good physical exam.  Fleas are the least of your concerns with a stray that happens by. Cats are carriers of parasites that you really do not want to come in contact with.

I doubt it Steve, cats won't usually put up with that, unlike dogs.
