I hate visiting places where there are tourists...

I think anyone who attempts to quantify "coolness" is automatically uncool. If had to describe what makes New York "cool," it would probably be something along the lines of the sum total of people, history, attitudes, sights, sounds, dialog, feelings, juxtapositions, and a billion other interacting factors that combine to create a "color" that cannot be seen. But yeah, let's just add up the number of bars and restaurants or whatever.

LOL I know, seems odd that I would be complaining about "tourists". But trust me, not all tourists were created equal. ;) 

If you keep your right, don't walk more than two across the sidewalk, or stop in the middle of the sidewalk to take pictures of yourself, and if you're considerate enough move to the side when you need to ponder -  you're no longer a "tourist". You're a temporary resident. :)

There's 8 millions of us here, there's always someone behind you, there's always someone who'll walk right into your shot (that's one of my favorite sports actually. ;)
