"Hip" is in the eye of the beholder.  There are many reasons to live where we do.  If you're into art and music, a big city is hip.  If you're into quiet and calm, the country is hip.  Any given place has good and bad points.  We each have to decide what's important.  I've lived in Orange County and San Diego in California mostly because of my job.

These lists are just for entertainment and fun discussions like this.  Is anyone really going to move just because they saw a name on a list?

BTW, statistics aren't all that important--unless your one of them.
I sure agree with all of that.

The really bad thing is when one needs to leave and doesn't have the funds
to get out.
Relocating can be expensive even if one isn't going far and there are many
reasons that can blow the expense so high that they can't find a way out.
Now that would make a place a nightmare to me.

I would hate to think about relocating now. "Sell it" just doesn't cover everything
and the thought of how much stuff to move, plus the cost....just a nightmare.

I had a good friend that didn't want to own anything. He didn't have to take care
of it and he could go in just a minute. Kinda envy that as that is how I was until
I got married.....wouldn't change a thing though.
Come to think of it...he got all of his equipment repo'd in the middle of week
gig LOL...the band had to buy the equipment...what a dude he was. R.I.P. Jimmy. Miss ya brother.

You're right, of course, about the challenges of moving--especially when kids and real estate are involved.

George Carlin had it right about stuff, though.  Certain things have sentimental value and can't be replaced, but a lot of it is just stuff.
