Hi everybody,

a few days a ago I deciceded to upgrade from my old Sonar 7 to Sonar 2016 Prof. Cool tool, cool features.

Anyway I have problem with my old project and need a hint where I can find "how tos" that my old project files will run under Sonar 2016.
Precisely: My old projects do not find the fx effect.
E.g. I am using fx:delay in my old projects. Fx:delay is available with Sonar 2016 and I have downloaded it (using command center). Anyway my old projects are still complaining that they can't find fx:delay.

Has anybody a hint where I can find migration tips in this huge amount of documentation?

Moreover: Is lexington pantheon still available with Sonar 2016? I love it :-)

Thank you in advance

Most of the 32bit DX plug-ins were not ported to 64bit and over time dropped from the distribution. Discontinued plug-ins like old 32bit DX plug-ins and the Lexicon Pantheon (which was available as both 32bit and 64bit) will have to be installed from a version of SONAR which included them. Run the old SONAR installer and use the advanced install option to select the plug-ins to install. Because 32bit DX plug-ins only run in 32bit SONAR, it will be necessary to install the 32bit version of the new SONAR to use the old 32bit DX plug-ins. Run the new SONAR installer manually to get the 32/64 bit prompt to install 32bit SONAR.

Hi Scook,
thank's for your quick Reply and your hint.
I set up a "legacy" 32Bit-system on the same Server with all the old plugins. There, I can have a look into my old Projects and they run....just like the good old times

I decided to migrate all my 32Bit templates to the new 64Bit installation and replace all plugins by 64Bit equivalents just when I start a new project.
I'm sure it will take some years before we have 128Bit operating Systems and have to migrate again

There's no need. Sonar 7 installs and runs perfectly well on a 64-bit platform. You will be able to install Sonar 7 alongside the new Sonar and all the original plugins will then become available. V-Vocal will be there too.

Hi Kev999,

you're right, it runs on 64-Bit platform and, I tested, on Windows 10 too.
I changed the attached audio-interface from firewire to usb. The new usb interace (audiobox) doesn't run reliable with Sonar 7. With the new sonar it's absolutely fine!
