  • [Solved] Platinum Start Menu not showing most recent saves

I'm having an issue where the Platinum Start Menu (which I love; the one with the graphics of the screens of your latest saved projects) isn't showing any of the versions I have saved in the last two days. They are there all right (thank goodness) in my Cakewalk Projects folder, along with all the others. I can load them fine from the File -> Open menu.

I'm wondering why this would be. I'm not saving to a different location or anything.

Yesterday, not paying enough attention, I just loaded the version of my project that was on the upper left of the Start Menu and spent time working on fixing details of a certain track, only to realize I was working on an old version from the day before, about 10 versions old  . Not the end of the world, but still ....

Today, I wanted to continue work, and the same thing. None of the versions from the last two days appears in the Start Menu.

I'm on Platinum, Win 10, up to date (except for the early release for this month).

Thank you for that tip, scook . The advice on the thread you linked was to clear the StartPageCache. When I follow the directions and successfully navigate to the StartPageCache screen I see that it contains these folders:
Dictionaries, GPUCache and Local Storage. Assuming it isn't Dictionaries I should clear:

Under GPUCache the files are: data 0, data 1, data 2, data 3 and index.
Under Local Storage the files are: local storage, localstorage-journal, http_www.cakewalk.com-0.local storage and http_www.cakewalk.com_0.localstorage-journal.

There are also some files not contained in any of those three folders, such as Cookies, Cookies-journal, f_000001, f-000002, etc.

Would you know which items I'm supposed to clear?

Thank you again,
LJ

When I tested, I deleted everything in the StartPageCache folder. I did make a copy of the folder just in case. All the folders and files were rebuilt the next time the start menu ran.

Edited to add: Success! I followed your directions and then restarted Sonar. It took longer than normal and I pictured little hamsters busily rebuilding the cache. Then, voila! My latest project, correctly displayed on the Start Page!

Thank you again, scook. :)

That is what I did. I would guess even the top level folder would be recreated if it were not there though.

I have not seen the start menu mess up in several releases so this may not be the solution to your problem but it is an easy fix if it is.

Oops, sorry, I accidentally deleted my question when I edited in my success story, effectively making your reply seem to come as a consequence of nothing.

Just glad it worked.

I will update the subject to add [Solved].
