Hi,
Before I go and install Win 10, can anyone tell me if there are drivers for this OS for the Sound Canvas SC-8850?
Thanks in advance.

I have an SC 8850 and I have not used its USB drivers in many years. I use the MIDI in and out to control it from Sonar.

I can confirm that the USB drivers work under Windows 10, however, I installed them when my machine was using Windows 8.

Are you intending to do an in-place upgrade or a clean install?

Cheers

I also use only MIDI on my SC55 mkii. It has RS-232 serial interface which hardware limited. However, I can do everything that I need with MIDI...settings aren't really high-bandwidth.

Thanks Guys,
I was thinking of doing an upgrade. Bit reluctant as my Win 7 machine is going swimmingly with Sonar Platinum at the moment. But also thinking of the future - I rely a lot on the 8850 and don't want to have to chuck it due to no support. So, good to know that it will work under Win 10.
Thanks again .

If the worst happens and you can't find Windows 10 support for the USB port of the 8850, you could always grab yourself a quality USB to MIDI converter connected to the win10 machine and control the 8850 via the 8850's MIDI ports.

That's what I did when I upgraded from the 32bit to the 64bit version of Windows 7. I could not use my Yamaha SW1000XG (no driver support) in win7 64bit.  Now I have the SW1000XG in an HP Small Form Factor machine (with win7 32bit) and control it via a Roland USB to MIDI converter connected to the win7 64bit machine.

Hi Promidi

Thanks for that. That is an option, although I would prefer to keep the USB connection to the 8850 as it gives me the 4 banks of 16 channels that I use sometimes.
Cheers
