  • (Solved) Channel Aftertouch checkbox does not persist after closing Sonar?

In the Preferences/Midi/Playback and Recording/Record menu there is are several checkboxes. One of them is for recording Channel Aftertouch.

I can check the box, apply, OK, and it works for that session but when I close Sonar Platinum (04/16) then restart it comes back up un-checked again. I have tried it on two separate installs/machines with the same results.

Just curious if anyone has experienced this?

Have been trying to schedule a Support phone call but that system must not be working as No list of dates are displayed.

Kind regards,
Rick

It works as expected here. I can think of only two reasons it might not work for you.

If you open SONAR and go to Preferences without calling up a project, aftertouch will be unchecked because that's the default. However as soon as you open a project, new or existing, the persisted setting will load. BTW I didn't just check this closing and re-opening SONAR, but also after re-booting the computer and opening SONAR.

Or, maybe you have some aggressive anti-virus thing that thinks a program is trying to mess with your system, but I tend to doubt that.

Craig, You're a Genius and a very kind supporter!  Thank You.

I'm not sure what changed because I always leave the channel AT checked as I use it constantly. Today, it wasn't working and when I looked in preferences, the box was no longer checked.

Your explanation is exactly right as I was testing this without a project open. Kinda weird as I thought it was a user select-able global setting. At one time I thought it did default as checked and it was the poly AT that defaulted to unchecked.

Regardless, It is now persistent when I open an existing or new project. Actually, you just solved another matter because I was going to call support and there were no times available. You just scored a Double Hitter and I'm back to work!

Thank You again.

Kind regards,
Rick Tucker

Regarding the aggressive anti-virus thing. Not on my machines, but sometimes it is a personal issue I am trying to work on...  :)
