I have one of the JD 400s (#10) being built, candy apple red instead of blue.  white instead of translucent maple.  EMGs.  Shark tooth instead of dot inlays.

Due in October or so.

That was fun Space!

Retro is right- sure reminded me of cars from the 50-60's but
futuristic? Maybe if they were loaded with auto tuning...and modeling?

No. 8 and 9 I liked most.

The Tele style was cool because I'd drawn that exact head design for a build
and didn't go with it.

I really like the JBD-400 pictured just as it is!

Craig i opted for red since i just bought some blue guitar.

I am still not sure what all those tone options do on the Gaudy Paul but I love the guitar.

Glad it went to a good home.  Check out the laminated sheet I made and included.  Lots of fun there (my next one will have most of the same wiring).

I have always thought that since things are "electric" that nowadays the design of the thing is not an issue. Stratus has some nice bass designs that are more Steinberg defined than they are using the commonly defined/designed guitar shapes.

I really think that the newer designs will go away from the conventional frames used at this time. And I still think that a new guitar will use laser spots for your fingers instead of strings ... and when you slide a finger between this spot and the next, that is like bending a string some ... until it reaches the other note.

All in all, for all intents and purposes, all of those pictures and designs are from commercial folks that do not want to do anything different and revolutionary ... even the Graphite Stratus folks are better than most of those designs ... the bass alone is worth the price I can't afford!

Both Daevid Allen and Steve Hillage, play a Hoffner (or is it Hohner ... don't remember) and they do glissando off it, and that little thing has no head or feet ... just strings on a stick ... and no one can say they do not sound good, or can't play ... pictures on my web site for Daevid doing the Glissando!
