Are the installs going to continue to put the LANDR mastering entry in the utility menu every time I update?

I suspect it will be around as long as LANDR. The SONARToolsEditor on this page http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/3392713 makes maintaining the SONAR Tools menu easier.

Thank You scook for your reply and suggestion.

I just don't understand why cakewalk would still be forcing LANDR on their Customers after all of the complaints. For me, the updates are no longer something to look forward to. With C3 they could make it selective if they wanted to...

This is either the product of internal self interest, greed, or just don't care. It may just be time for another internal shakeup starting with the decision makers.

No part of LANDR's product is installed without your consent. The part you are seeing is the registry entry developed by Cakewalk to call a Cakewalk utility to integrate LANDR. This part of the process is similar to the other 3rd party encoders included with Cakewalk, just a little more visible.

With all due respect.

Cakewalk could prevent that menu entry from showing up in the utilities menu if they really wanted to. Unfortunately, the LANDR mastering entry is right next to the Plugin-mgr entry which I use frequently.

I appreciate your kind help but apparently this is just my personal problem that I have no control over with one exception. I know what to do.

Kind regards,
 Rick

The first time something like this has happened to this degree anyway. I never had a problem with anything performing once it was installed correctly. But these two puppies are a different breed for some reason. Could they not have performed under to usual standards? The new LP plugins look great though...I haven't actually seen them on my laptop :)

Hi Soundblend. I'm certainly no expert, but I don't think your GTX750TI card is ever going to run right with an LGA775 motherboard with a core 2 quad CPU. I would also assume by your specs that your power supply will probably not be up to the task either? You really need at least 700watt. Not questioning you here, I just believe you should give this some thought. I have the same card and it required a fair bit of upgrade, and I was way above your specs.

I'm thinking I'm going to hang back on this update. I've had enough driver issues of late to last me for some time and I've got work to do, not chase more upgrades for software.
Cheers. Dave.

They probably could, but you can't assume that everyone has the same aversion to LANDR as you. There are SONAR users who use LANDR, so having it in the utilities menu is convenient, as is the option to upload to SoundCloud for some people.

I suppose a preference when installing that said "don't create the registry entry that lets you download LANDR or access it from within SONAR if you have it installed" could be added, but that seems like taking the installation process to a pretty granular level. Of course you can always go into the registry and delete the LANDR key, but you would need to do this on subsequent updates. Or you could type in a new, inspiring phrase for that line in the registry and change it every time you update. That way you'd see something you wanted to see next to the plug-in manager.

But I get it, for whatever reason you're really upset about this and nothing will suffice short of some process to delete the registry entry automatically and permanently. I really don't know of any way to do that. It's scary enough for me just to go into the registry.

I wish my life was so simple and free of trouble that menu options in applications that I don't use were what angered me. Until such a state of grace arrives, though, I have to say, I find it impossible to take seriously people who appear to be grown-ass adults carrying on like this.

THERE, I'VE SAID IT.

I got a Chieftech power supply that's 650 watts, and my computer is not all the best but it works.
Btw i have overclocked my Graphics card from basic GPU core clock of the GTX750TI, it can run stable
at 1058Mhz, and the memory is boosted with 20Mhz ..  ( i Play World of tanks ) at full HD 1920 x 1080
continious, with a max temperature of 34 degrees celsius, and with a fan speed of max 32%.

I guess there's people here, that have great computers with high end stats that have the same issues... right ?

So for me it is a Software issue with the LP plugins, not my system.
I got Izotope Ozone 6, that is very CPU consumable, i can run that good with other plugins
and various vsti's running at the same time as well reverb and delay, without any hiccups XD.

But i agree people can certainly wait until the bakers can optimize the plugins a bit more..

EDIT : And for me windows 8 was far better than windows 10, but that is my opinion.

Sounds like your all over it. I've not had half that success. My aim was 4k video editing and I've given up and built a 2nd PC. The last driver for the GTX750 did finally fix a lot of problems, but there are still many more not yet addressed. Thanks for info. regards Dave.

I'm sinking a lot of money into building a new PC this weekend. Since I'm using it solely for music production, I was told that I really didn't need to worry too much about what graphics card I put in it, as long as it could support two monitors. This talk about the new plugins' GUIs not displaying properly on some people's systems has me a bit worried now. I'm getting a used 560 Ti from a friend. Will that card be okay for anything Sonar throws at it?
