When I open X3, it says I have 295 plugins.  When I open Platinum, it says I only have 290.   Two of them that I don't have in Platinum are ones that I use in X3, so they don't work in Platinum.
 
How exactly do I scan the VST plugins?  I know I go to Preferences.  After that, not sure.

So I rescanned Failed and Existing plugins, but it didn't correct anything.   I still have 5 more plugins in X3 than in Platinum.  How do I correct this?

IMO, just copy all the "VST scan paths" from X3 and and paste or add them to "VST scan paths" in Platinum. You should see now all the plugins in Platinum.
