Please review what I wrote about limitations involving splits of MIDI clips. SONAR won't split a MIDI note in the middle because it assumes that if you wanted to play a single note, it should remain unsplit. However I feel that MIDI notes should be split in this context, even if it does create an additional note-one/note-off. I will be trying to convince Cakewalk of this, because I agree this function shouldn't require manual work on MIDI clips to complete the process.
 




Yes I agree but I guess in this case the clips were not split because there was empty tracks amongst the selected area. Usually when I've experienced the situation that there is a MIDI note in between bars it simply vanishes but the split still happens. This has been annoying phenomenon also so it is great if you can talk to Cakewalk about that. :)
 
I think the best solution would be to have options for that behavior. Having two notes in a way that the other doesn't have note off and the other misses note on could be also problematic in some situations. IMO the most logical operation as default would be that the long note gets split in two notes in the exact point of splitting and it's up to user to do the edit there since Sonar can not know what the user is trying to do.
