'My Bonnie' by Tony Sheridan and The Beatles was..hmm. My sister had that LP, and had I known the acronym 'WTF? ' when I was 10, I would certainly have had it above my head in a thought bubble.

Guys - The Sheik of Araby? What were you thinking?

I had a copy of the Beatles set of concerts in Hamburg for a long time, and this was pretty much even before they became famous ... and there are many expressions and lyrics sung in there that show up later ... rita is one of them ... and a different, if funny one, there is one of the Christmas Shows where they start singing "Besame Mucho" and immediately George says ... copyrights copyrights ... and they stop singing it. I'm guessing as they hit the BIGGER time, that they were told by Brian Epstein, to stop singing anything that was not theirs.

From what I read, the Beatles had to stay on stage and perform for hours in Hamburg - something they really weren't ready for -  and they didn't have the repertoire to play for so long, so they basically recycled anything they could - including odd bits like the Sheik or Besame Mucho...

Also, McCartney always had a strong penchant for old musicals and all that stuff.

Hi,

I still say ... NONE ... to the question on top ... we all had to crawl on our knees and went crying to mommy when this or that happened. So some bands were not as good as the others, and the Beatles first album is not as good as their last ... but the first album is easy and perfect for kids and people to learn music with ... simple and straight forward, which most "first albums" usually were. AND still ARE!
