Hi all,
I'm collaborating with a guitar player on one project who was interested enough in Sonar that he started an Artist subscription for now. On one project where he needs to do some parts he asked me if I could simply send the whole project over. I can, but I thought the way to do this was to create a bundle file which would create one file with all the audio currently in that project, etc.
Disclaimer: I've never done this before because nobody I know (apart from you guys) uses Sonar.
By the way I realize all my third party and Platinum plugins won't work so the mix will be way off but he could still shift around clips and see what I've done, etc.
The problem is, when I go to save it as a bundle file, I get a notice that AudioSnap transient markers can't be saved and that I should turn off AudioSnap for any clips that have it or bounce to clip. I have used AS during the project in an earlier phase but didn't think I had any active clips. I've gone through the project selecting all audio clips, opening the AS panel and making sure it was off. I still get the notice. During this, it occurred to me that you can't really see if a clip has AS on it -  or can you? Seems useful. 
 
So, is this just a standard notice? Should I do something else? Is there a better way to send the project? 

Select all your clips, one at a time and do a Bounce to Clip (you can set up a key binding for this which makes it MUCH faster)
 
Secondly, I wouldn't save as a bundle file - upload the whole cwp to Dropbox and sent your mate the link.
 
Alternatively, if you just want him to add some parts, bounce the whole project to a wav and send him that.

Thanks for your reply. I realize that these are my options if I can't get the "simple way" to work. I would rather not manually bounce ALL clips, even though I have a key binding set up for this. That rather takes some of the speed out of this workflow idea. If there were a way to quickly see which clips have active AudioSnap I would do this. Same with bouncing to tracks. I've exported audio for other DAWs enough times to be comfortable with this, I was just hoping between Sonar versions it'd be a bit quicker and easier. Otherwise there's no reason at all for him to work with Sonar (beyond that it's a great program  of course). 
 
I have of course considered sending the entire project but I usually have a bunch of versions in there which means multiple project files but also redundant audio (for him) from older versions of the song. As far as I'm aware, a bundle file grabs all of the audio in the currently open project and packages that. It seems, if I'm right, the easiest way to exchange files between us, if I can only get it to work right. Hopefully someone else has more experience with this? 

You can achieve the same rationalisation by doing a "Save As", choosing a different location for the save and this will strip out any redundant audio not referenced by this version of the project.
 
This has the advantage of reducing the file size, quite often by a considerable amount.

Ah thanks, that I didn't realize, or forgot or something. 

Just make sure you've got "Copy Audio With Project" checked in the dialog box.

"save as" to a different directory, then zip that directory to a zip file seems to work better for us than doing a bun file. Any of these techniques have the problem of version mismatches, plug differences, and general setup differences. 
 
It's also really easy to dump wav's of each track with or without the FX burned in. Then you can import those into any version, with any plugs, or even a different DAW (eeek!)
 
select all the tracks, then do an "export"
 
in the export dialog on the left set the source as "tracks" and it will pop up a window to let you select the tracks you want to export so you can modify to export all the tracks or only the ones you want.
 
You can check whether you want FX, automation, etc. etc.
 
Then you can save all that as a preset (there may be a preconfigured preset that does what you want too).
 
Put in your file name, and export the files to a directory.

Thanks, I'm aware of all the issues with moving projects to a different system. I'm also comfortable with exporting tracks because I do it regularly for people using other DAWs. In this case he asked specifically for the project. There are already some guitar parts in there that we did at my place, I think he wants to edit and comp a bit with what I already did.
 
I think for now saving the project to a new folder and zipping it will be the quickest way to get what we need. 

Although if anyone knows a quick way to determine which clips have AS enabled I'd welcome it.
