whoever that girl was that sung the queen song really sucked.

i dig annie lennox, singing just about anything.
she's got a great rock and roll voice

most of the new music was really cheesy, but a few of the older classics were fun...

but the idea of music originating in 'london' being featured, well, they just missed out on so many better songs than the ones they chose.
could have been pretty cutting edge history-wise, but ended up very middle of the road.

Eric Idle's part was so British.

Roller-skating nuns et al... delightful.

Loved the Eric Idle bit. Thought Jessie J singing with Queen was pretty darn good actually, the girl can sing. The strange line-up doing Wish You Were Here was rather nice. Not a big Muse fan, but man, they do rock live.

Hearing that, I'm glad I turned it off in disgust at the excessive blandness, musically at least, although I'm very sorry I missed Muse ... had no idea they'd be part of the program.

Now, I know Oasis has a lot of fans, but can I be the only one who cannot stomach that singer?  I find his voice is irritating and his posturing infantile.  I heard that he says his singing with his head pointing up is for vocal reasons.  Well here's a clue, dude: the microphone stand is adjustable.  You can put the mic higher with little effort.

Damn NBC for cutting Mr. Davies, especially when the Oasis singer was deemed more worthy of the air time.

And damn them even more for showing only a small bit of the gold metal women's volleyball competition.  Yeah, the US lost ... the US viewers will get over it, you know.  NBC showed the entirety of the bronz match, and that aired at a far better time to boot.  Damn NBC!

I would express myself here but the TOS of the forum does not permit the appropriate language.

Thanks also for identifying the tune Ned did.
