The joy of Komplete Ultimate 8 was that it was on a USB drive. I think the whole thing took under 30 minutes. And when I upgrade to Ultimate 9 I'll have a spare USB drive. YAY!!!

Did you install K8 onto your HD, or do you just use the USB drive to stream the sample content from?
(it's about a 100GB of content no?) 

Installed to hard drive. I gots the room and I don't trust externals for streaming sample content.

That's impressive (30 minutes to install 100+ GB's).....

Finally....back to where I started after a couple of hours.

Whatever the update is suppose to fix is now no concern
of mine. Matter of fact nothing NI will ever do will never be
any concern of mine. They got their last bit of my time and money.

Glad to see you're gettng back on track. Even with the software/hardware issues NI causes, the truth of the matter is NI makes excellent products (especially Kontakt) and I'm more than likely going to buy stuff from them in the future........most likely Komplete 8.  

"truth of the matter" is perspective. "Excellent" products don't cause issues or change
customers passwords...which had definately been changed for whatever reason and I
wasn't notified about it. Had to email them to find out what they changed it to.
 
I didn't post the problems I was having to effect anybodies purchases in any manner or form.
My "truth of the matter" is as I stated. Done with them.
 
And what started it all....checking to see about upgrading to 5.  $99.00 to upgrade from 4 to 5
for a 200 dollar program! That's crazy....to me.
They're telling me what I got ain't worth half what I paid for it or 5 is worth twice as much. BS.
