Zoom the track scale by dragging up in the divider between the header and the clips pane. If the waveform remains a flatline, it might be a problem with the picture file that SONAR uses to draw the waveform, and you should try right-clicking the clip and choosing Associated Audio Files > Recompute Pictures.
If there
is a waveform showing, where is it peaking on the scale compared to what the track meter shows for peaks with Gain and Volume controls set to 0dB, and how does that compare to the UX2's input/output meters (not sure if it has both)?
