They don't do that. You have to commit to 12 months to keep all the updates.

It's not a subscription, it's a payment plan.

Damn! Welp at this point I don't see committing for 12 months when after being a loyal member for years. There should be some kind of way to pick and choose what you want to purchase just my two cents

There is, as long as you buy plug-ins from someone else. You can buy a linear phase multiband compressor from Waves for $149. Don't know what version of SONAR you have, but given that you can upgrade to SONAR Platinum from X3 Producer for $149 and that gets you the LP MB, LP EQ, and a years' worth of update, it seems like a better deal than going a la carte with a different manufacturer.

This may have been addressed already but the monthly subscription caught my eye because of the LP-MB that looks pretty cool. So I started reading about the monthly subscription and I may have missed but I don't see where you can get the monthly subscription for a month and cancel.  Is that in fact true? It seems even with the monthly subscription it is based off 12 months.  I have not renewed my yearly subscription but if it were possible to get just a month subscription for updates up to that point and have the option to cancel I would be interested in that.

That would be quite a deal! I think that's called wanting to have your cake and eat it too:)

You are right -  you must maintain membership for 12 consecutive months in order to 'own'  the updates.

The rub is how many things I will not use during the 12 months the version I have now is one of the best ever in my opinion.  It is what it is 12 months got it

Artist, Platinum, or Professional? There are different update costs for each. Artist to Professional is $99, renewing Platinum for another year is $149. Either way it's a better deal than buying a single plug-in a la carte.

I hear you.   Just keep an eye on the new updates,  and when enough has accumulated that you know you will use to get your moneys worth buy back in.
