I know there is a setting somewhere. Please advise. I drag my MIDI clip from the Media folder to  the track and it ends up way down the line. Dotted lines appear in the track. What and where is the setting I need to change to let me drop the clip where my cursor is? Thank you in advance.

Always Import Broadcast Waves at Their Timestamp. Forces SONAR to ignore the Now Time when importing Broadcast Wave files. When this option is checked, Broadcast Waves begin at their SMPTE timestamp in your project.

Thanks for that chuckebaby. I too thought that would work, but no luck. I drag the clip and go to the point in the track to release it and it goes to the track below, or to the end of the project. Very haphazard behaviour.

Update: It is the clips themselves that are behaving this way. I can easily insert other MIDI clips at the time line and channel but these newer ones behave oddly. I will take ii up with the vendor. Thank you everyone for reviewing and posting on this issue. I will update this post with vendor information.
