So tired of trying to figure out why Sonar X3 changes on me overnight. Today, I cannot grab the end of a clip and slip-edit it. The Smart or Edit options do nothing when I hover over the END of a clip and attempt to shrink it (which I have done approximately 1 billion times since I stared with Cakewalk for DOS and have stayed patient up til now). I have RTFM'd, scanned posts and I guessing the answer is in the Forums somewhere, but you know what? Time is money. Anybody seen this and can you tell me what is goofed up. I have checked the Clips view and made sure looping is off, but other than that, I can't find any stupid reason why this is happening.
Thank you for listening.

Slip editing works fine here.
What happens if you bounce the clip to itself before editing?

Thanks for responding. I did figure it out after posting my frustration: it is my learning curve, having worked out a very efficient (for me) workflow in 8.5, and hanging on to that version for a long time left me confused with much of the interface options in X3. I found that it is the track's "Clips/Notes/Automation" drop down. If it is set to "volume" under Automation, it is only possible to play with the volume envelope, but not crop/move the clip. Setting it back to 'clips' allows me to manipulate the clip (slip-edit, etc.) but not edit the volume. So, I am learning that this little drop-down on each track is my key. I've also had enormous challenges with accidental 'hot-key' input (fat fingers) that left my interface a mess. So, my learning curve is still steep - I like to write/record music, not take interminable tutorials on how to use the software, and that is my challenge. :-) All good for today. If this helps anyone else with 'the power' of X3 and its inherent challenges, then good. Thanks, again!
