A good number of current laptops use the 5500U. It is cheaper than the 4core/8 thread I7's and optimized for low power and not performance.If this LT is to be your primary DAW rig, find a LT with a 4 core/8 thread CPU.
Why do you want a LT anyway ? Do you do mobile recording gigs ? If not then spend your $$ on a desktop for your DAW. You have a lot more options and you will get more bang for the buck. Right now a desktop with an I7-4790K (Devil's Canyon) is probably the best buy.

im with microapp, this is not a performance CPU. im sure it will do okay with what your trying to do but will shudder on larger projects.
it is only a 2 core processor with 4 threads, it maxes out at 16GB for memory.
this is something to remember when thinking about expansion.
heres the specs to the 5500U

you could laterally build a desktop with 550.00 US dollars that will blow the socks off this processor.
how do I know ?

because I just got done building this one:
(Intel I7 4790K 4.0Ghz LGA 1150 w 16GB corsair ram on an Asrock z97 Extreme.)
using onboard graphics.
