Very cool.
My wife and I decided to build on a few years (well slightly longer now) ago. To save money and keep sub-contractor costs low, I opted to do many of the sub trades myself. Painting, trim carpentry, plumbing, electrical, and tile. I left the framing, roof, insulation, sheetrock and foundation to the experts.
I bought the tools, saws and the diamond blades to cut the tile. then I set about doing the work. It was hard work to say the least, but with research and checking out some tile laying training at Lowes, I got the info I needed to do a bang up job. And saved a ton of money in the process. My best guess on actual savings was between $20k to $25k saved in labor and material markups. It is a pleasure to show off the house to friends and know that I did much of that work myself.
Looks like you did a most excellent job, and its something you can certainly be proud to show off.
