  • Delete Hole - Automation option greyed out

Hi,

As many of you will know, when a project gets large and the client starts making arrangement changes, it's a right ball-ache to start moving clips around and keep everything in sync.

Delete hole (or insert measures) doesn't always move everything unless all clips are bounced and stretched back to the beginning of your song.

Anyway, my automation option is greyed out in the delete hole dialog popup. Anyone know why?

Moving the automation curves, of which there are many, is not happening unless I move clips manually. BUS automation gets ignored with delete hole too.

Any tips/advice?

Many thanks,

Mike.

Have you tried the Ripple Edit options?  This handles all aspects choose Ripple Edit All, best to turn it off after you have used.  It would be handy to have a couple of Ripple edit gadget indicators in the control Bar to enable and disable them.

Found in track view under options.

This gadget I asked for more than one year. It is absolutly essential because this gadget can provide a real help and to avoid errors or misunderstanding when arranging the project.
I hope Noel does a new magic.

Ripple editing was added in Sonar a while ago.

I remember contacting Cakewalk about the non working Delete hole option not working and they supplied me a link to Ripple Editing on the website documentation page.
